About our Uncle DNA Test
For $295, including your test kit and all lab fees, an AlphaBiolabs Uncle DNA Test can help determine the biological relationship of a child to a possible uncle.
This test is often used in situations where the assumed mother or father has passed away or is unwilling to take a DNA test.
This means that the only way to determine a biological relationship between an uncle and their possible niece/nephew is by performing a DNA test on the assumed uncle.
AlphaBiolabs’ Uncle DNA test (also known as an avuncular test) compares a child’s DNA profile with a possible uncle’s. Since a child inherits half of its DNA from each biological parent, the DNA comparison can reveal whether the child has inherited DNA from the suspected uncle.
Once the participants have had their DNA samples tested, AlphaBiolabs can calculate a combined likelihood ratio that will determine the probability of a biological relationship.
This is not the same as a paternity test, which is more conclusive. Uncle DNA testing will produce genetic profiles of the participants and determine probabilities. If a probability of relatedness is 90% or higher, it is highly likely that the uncle is related to the niece/nephew; under 10% probability would be considered unlikely to be related.
If the probability of relatedness falls between 10% and 90%, it is inconclusive, meaning a relationship cannot be statistically supported by the analysis.
What will the test cost?
You can order our Uncle DNA Test online now for just $295. The cost of the test includes your test kit and all lab fees.
The test kit includes enough cheek swabs to test one potential niece/nephew, one potential uncle, and a mother/father (where possible).
If you would like to test more than one potential niece/nephew, you can select this option when placing your order (additional charges apply).

Our test results are accurate, but you may not get a conclusive result
AlphaBiolabs' Uncle DNA Test is extremely accurate. However, due to the nature of uncle DNA testing, you may not get a conclusive result.
Uncle DNA testing can be up to 40% inconclusive. We have worked hard to reduce that rate to just 28% for an AlphaBiolabs Uncle DNA Test. This means that one in four people will not get a decisive answer.
This test comes with a money-back guarantee. If we can't give you a conclusive result, we will refund the price of your test.
Can kits be sent to two addresses?
Yes, AlphaBiolabs can mail your Uncle DNA Test kits to two different addresses.
You will find the option to list a 2nd address when you check out.
Both test kits will be sent out in discreet, plain packaging, for full confidentiality.
What is peace of mind testing?
At AlphaBiolabs, we offer peace of mind testing with all our DNA testing kits.
As the name suggests, a peace of mind DNA test is for personal use only.
The results of these tests can give you the answers you need, but they cannot be used for legal purposes or in court proceedings.
Peace of mind tests also allow you to collect your samples quickly and easily at home, without the need to use a more costly and time-consuming third-party to verify the DNA sample collection.
Our money-back guarantee
AlphaBiolabs guarantees that we will produce the most accurate results possible from your DNA test samples.
In the rare case that we cannot provide a result with the samples provided, we will either send a new kit and re-test at no cost to you, or offer a 100% no-hassle refund.
