Relationship DNA tests are performed by comparing the DNA profiles for a group of individuals and considering the probability of any potential relationships. Now DNA testing in Florida is just a click away! It couldn’t be easier.
Our DNA testing services can be bought on-line from our website from just $119 and mailed direct to your home. We ensure that confidentiality is maintained at every step, and all results are emailed back within 3-5 days from receiving the samples in the lab. All results are password protected for security.
We offer a full range of relationship testing kits, including Paternity, Maternity, Sibling, Twin, Grandparent, Aunt and Uncle, Y Chromosome and Single Genetic Profile tests.
What does the test entail?
Our testing kits include full instructions, making it very easy for you to collect your DNA samples. All you need to do is rub the mouth swabs provided on the inside of your cheek. This is a very gentle and painless way to collect cells. No blood is required for these DNA tests. These collected cheek cells are then returned to our lab using the already-addressed envelope.
Back at the lab, a DNA profile is produced from the samples provided and we examine specific markers present in repeat sections of DNA from each sample. AlphaBiolabs is one of just a few labs accredited to test up to 42 DNA markers in standard tests; most relationship tests examine only 16. We also test all our exclusion results twice so you can be confident of getting accurate results.
Which test to choose?
Paternity and maternity DNA tests identify which half of the child’s DNA is inherited from the father and which half is from the mother. If the parents undergoing DNA testing are the biological parents, they will share identical sections of DNA with the child at each marker. If a parent refuses to consent to a DNA test or is unavailable for testing, alternative DNA tests can be performed to establish a direct biological relationship via other family members. Grandparent DNA tests are performed when a child’s grandparents want to know whether the child is truly related to them. In this DNA test we can determine whether grandparents have contributed DNA to the child’s genetic profile.
In the same way, aunt DNA testing or uncle DNA testing can be performed on a parent’s sister or brother to establish a biological relationship to a child. Sibling DNA testing can establish whether or not brothers and sisters have the same parent.
Twin DNA testing can identify whether multiples from the same birth (such as twins, triplets, quadruplets, etc.) are genetically identical or not.
The reasons for getting a single DNA genetic profile test are wide ranging. Some clients want to have their DNA profile on record because they work in a dangerous occupation. In case of an accident, their DNA profile could be used to help body identification. Other clients use genetic profiles to create unique piece of art, or as gifts for friends and family.
Just for men
Y DNA testing can prove that alleged male relatives share a common paternal line. All male children inherit their Y chromosome from their father; these children will in turn pass the Y chromosome inherited from their father to their children when they become fathers. This inheritance pattern means that males coming from the same paternal line will always share the same Y chromosome. In other words, the Y chromosome of biological brothers, paternal uncles and male cousins will be identical. The low mutation rate of the Y chromosome makes this Y DNA test very reliable. AlphaBiolabs uses the latest 42 marker technology in its Y DNA testing. Order your DNA test on our website. Alternatively, contact us via Live Chat or call now at 727-325-2902.
